UAE-based retail conglomerate Majid Al Futtaim has partnered with EFG Hermes’ fintech arm valU to provide shoppers with monthly installment plans of up to five years through the latter’s e-commerce platform, Invest-Gate reports.
“Customers can make purchases from select Majid Al Futtaim outlets at their own convenience by downloading the application, signing up, and activating the account at the nearest valU booth,” read the company’s press release on December 23.
“With programs of up to EGP 150,000, clients can shop from available brands and select the payment plan of their choice between six to 60 months,” the statement added, noting that the one-stop platform applies to over 3,000 stores, service providers, and websites that include a range of vendors that vary between fashion, furniture, healthcare, travel, and more.
In its statement, Majid Al Futtaim announced visitors across all its four shopping malls in Egypt (Mall of Egypt and City Centre malls) can benefit from an exclusive 10% cashback from December 22 to January 10, 2021, “as part of the launch campaign with valU.”
Speaking of the latest move, Managing Director of West Region Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim — Properties Philip Evans noted, “Our partnership with valU will ease the payment process, allowing shoppers to handle their payments more efficiently and at their convenience.”
“Customer experience is our priority, which is evident with the launch of our omnichannel platform that aims to meet the public’s rising demand for online services … Providing the Egyptian community with payment alternatives is a testament to our efforts, easing the purchasing process for all,” Evans continued.
Currently, Majid Al Futtaim operates more than 500 VOX Cinemas screens and 37 Magic Planet family entertainment centers across the MENA region. This is besides iconic leisure and entertainment facilities such as Ski Dubai, iFly Dubai, Ski Egypt, among others.
