Majid Al-Futtaim \u2014 the leading shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia \u2014 opened the doors to its Global Solutions headquarters at City Centre Almaza on 23 June 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was done in partnership with\u00a0the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the General Authority for Investments and Free Zones (GAFI). <\/span><\/p>\n

Majid Al-Futtaim\u2019s Global Solutions is aiming to transform the company\u2019s operating model into a more streamlined, connected business through its head offices in Egypt, enabling the organisation\u2019s overall growth and sustainable development. Global Solutions has also employed over 500 Egyptians, showcasing its commitment to the country\u2019s talent and potential.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by CEO of GAFI Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, VP for Electronic Transactions Security at the ITIDA Hazem Nabil, VP for Market Development at the ITIDA Amani Rabei, and Executive Director of GAFI Ahmed Kamal. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Global Solutions functional service centre, which aims to become the centralised business, knowledge, and technology hub for exporting services, provides a range of diverse offerings such as finance, human capital, IT, technology, procurement, and government relations across Majid Al-Futtaim\u2019s operating companies and offices present within 17 countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a speech, Abdel-Wahab said: \u201cMajid Al-Futtaim Global Solutions\u2019 decision to choose and invest in Egypt to open headquarters for outsourcing its operations to the region confirms Egypt\u2019s potential as an investment destination, especially in light of the available skills and young talent.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is in line with the government\u2019s vision to further invest in local talent, providing training and qualification programmes that continue to build on the necessary capabilities using state-of-the-art technology that meets the demand of the labor market.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Nabil added: \u201cWe are thrilled to witness the opening of Majid Al-Futtaim\u2019s Global Solutions headquarters right here in Egypt. The centre has contributed to creating around 550 jobs in the fields of shared services and outsourcing \u2014 a testament to the competencies and talents of Egypt\u2019s youth, the backbone of this industry.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe ITIDA is looking forward to attracting more global services providers and witnessing further expansion plans for multinational companies in the offshoring industry, especially in tier-two cities and governorates, which also enjoy an abundance of skilled talent at a competitive cost.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the opening, Khaled Al-Chidiac \u2014 CEO at Majid Al Futtaim Global Solutions \u2014 stated: \u201cToday marks a memorable milestone in the Global Solutions journey that cements its presence in Egypt \u2014 a nation which Majid Al-Futtaim has considered a key market for decades.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMajid Al-Futtaim recognises the endless opportunities that Egypt presents for future growth, as well as the immense potential of its talented people and young graduates. We strongly believe that Egyptians are the talent pipeline for Majid Al-Futtaim. Majid Al-Futtaim is and will continue to be a long-term partner of Egypt, with a total of its investments reaching EGP 26bn and with further plans in place to increase that number to EGP 44bn.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Global Solutions has successfully employed over 800 employees across both its offices in Dubai and Cairo, 550 of whom are currently operating from Cairo. The Global Solutions offices located at City Centre Almaza are LEED certified as per Majid Al-Futtaim\u2019s vision for a more sustainable future. <\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, Global Solutions plans to invest in technology and offer the best in-class solutions to its customers. Moving forward, Global Solutions plans to expand and offer its services and expertise to companies across the region.<\/span><\/p>\n
