The ministry of trade and investments has inaugurated\u00a0 HATS Egypt Exhibition the first and only Exhibition in the Middle East specialized in Home Appliances, Kitchen & Tableware and Hotel equipment\u2019s.<\/p>\n
The Exhibition hosted 70 international buyers from 26 countries across the globe and 36 exhibiting Egyptian companies in the cornered sectors, in a series of ongoing B2B matchmaking meetings, with the goal of opening new exporting markets in Africa, Europe and the Gulf Region.<\/p>\n
The exhibition was followed by two-day field visits to the company\u2019s factories.<\/p>\n
HATS was inaugurated by Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Gamea, who confirmed that the exhibition comes as part of the government\u2019s strategy to boost Egyptian exports to $100 billion.<\/p>\n
Nevin Gamea, said that that the engineering industries\u2019 sector is one of the most important and productive sectors in the national economy, as it contributes in providing the needs of the local market and exporting to foreign markets, noting that Egypt has great industrial potential in this sector that qualify it to compete in the regional and global markets.<\/p>\n
Gamea explained that the exhibition aims to help Egyptian manufacturers and exporters to increase their exports, find new export opportunities and enter different markets<\/p>\n
The minister pointed out that exports of engineering goods achieved an increase of 42% during the first 9 months of 2021 compared to the same period last year, reaching $2.294 billion, compared to $1.612 billion during the same period in 2020, pointing out that the top importing markets for Egyptian engineering products Including UAE, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia and France.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairman of the Engineering Exports Council, confirmed that HATS exhibition act as one of the most important promotional means for Egyptian exports abroad, in light of the current high global demand for Egyptian engineering goods due to the shipping crisis from China.<\/p>\n
Al-Sayyad added that Egyptian exports now have a wonderful opportunity to achieve further growth, and to benefit from the high global demand. He moreover pointed out that receiving the importers’ mission to establish a series of B2B matchmaking meetings with the Egyptian companies, can achieve a number of direct deals and contracts between both the buyers and the Egyptian companies, which helps in penetrating new international markets and reach real and promising export opportunities.<\/p>\n
HATS Egypt 2021 was in partnership with The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which comes as part of Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project, which is a five-year project funded by the USAID, as part of the bilateral agreement between the Government of Egypt (GoE) and the United States. USAID TRADE project aims to increase Egypt\u2019s international trade by boosting exports from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the activity\u2019s target sector.<\/p>\n
