{"id":323675,"date":"2021-10-18T11:47:44","date_gmt":"2021-10-18T11:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=323675"},"modified":"2021-10-19T11:50:31","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T11:50:31","slug":"remittances-from-egyptian-expats-record-18-7b-in-7-months-2-79b-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/10\/18\/remittances-from-egyptian-expats-record-18-7b-in-7-months-2-79b-in-july\/","title":{"rendered":"Remittances from Egyptian expats record $18.7B in 7 months, $2.79B in July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Remittances from Egyptian expatriates climbed 10.2 percent or $1.7 billion during the first seven months of 2021, recording $18.7 billion, compared to $17 billion during the same period of 2020, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Previous data showed an increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during the period from July 2020 until the end of May 2021, to record about $28.5 billion, compared to about $25.2 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year 2019\/2020.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The data showed that remittances from Egyptian expatriates during July 2021 inched down 3 percent to reach $2.79 billion, compared to $2.88 billion during July 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CAPMAS announced earlier that remittances from Egyptian expatriates recorded a total of $205.3 billion, representing 31.7 percent of Egypt&#8217;s total foreign exchange earnings over 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The value of remittances from Egyptians expatriates amounted to $12.6 billion during the fiscal year of 2010\/2011, compared to $18 billion during 2011\/2012, marking an increase of 42.7 percent, and rose in the following fiscal year to record $18.7 billion, with an increase of 3.9 percent compared to the fiscal year 2011\/2012.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the fiscal year 2013\/2014, remittances decreased 0.8 percent, recording $18.5 billion, while rebounded to $19.3 billion during the fiscal year 2014\/2015 to record $19.3 billion, marking a rise of 4.4 percent compared to the fiscal year 2013\/2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remittances recorded $17.1 billion during the fiscal year 2015\/2016, with a decrease of 11.7 percent compared to the previous fiscal year, and amounted to $21.8 billion in 2016\/2017, with an increase of 27.7 percent over the year 2015\/2016.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It recorded $26.4 billion in 2017\/2018, marking an increase of 21 percent over 2016\/2017, and decreased in 2018\/2019 to reach $25.2 billion, with a decrease of 4.7 percent compared to 2017\/2018.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, remittances from Egyptian expatriates hiked 10.4 percent during the fiscal year of 2019\/2020 to reach $27.8 billion, recording its highest record ever, compared to $25.2 billion during the fiscal year of 2018\/2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remittances from Egyptian expatriates climbed 10.2 percent or $1.7 billion during the first seven months of 2021, recording $18.7 billion, compared to $17 billion during the same period of 2020, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":321424,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[22,33],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-323675","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-banking","category-main"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.3 -
