{"id":323639,"date":"2021-10-14T11:43:26","date_gmt":"2021-10-14T11:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=323639"},"modified":"2021-10-14T11:43:26","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T11:43:26","slug":"orascom-construction-consortium-to-build-500-mw-wind-farm-in-egypt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/10\/14\/orascom-construction-consortium-to-build-500-mw-wind-farm-in-egypt\/","title":{"rendered":"Orascom Construction consortium to build 500 MW wind farm in Egypt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A consortium, including\u00a0Orascom Construction PLC\u00a0and\u00a0Toyota Tsusho Corporation, has signed a 20-year\u00a0agreement with\u00a0the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to develop and operate a 500 MW wind farm in Ras Ghareb in\u00a0Egypt.<\/p>\n<div id=\"Outstream\"><\/div>\n<p>The consortium also includes Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation from Japan and ENGIE from France, according to a press release on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>To implement the construction of the wind farm, Orascom Construction will hold a 25% stake in the project,\u00a0subject to financial close.<\/p>\n<p>To be constructed in 30 months, the\u00a0new wind farm triples Orascom Construction\u2019s wind energy capacity to more than 750 MW.<\/p>\n<p>This agreement came following the consortium&#8217;s success in developing 262.5 MW Ras Ghareb Wind Farm, Egypt\u2019s first renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) project of its kind and size.<\/p>\n<p>The wind farm was delivered two months ahead of schedule in October 2019 and has been operational since.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>CEO of Orascom Construction,\u00a0Osama Bishai,<\/strong> said: <em>&#8220;We are collaborating once again with our long-term partners, Toyota Tsusho\/Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation and ENGIE, to build another wind farm for our repeat client, EETC.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bishai commented:<em> &#8220;This project also underscores our strategy to continue pursuing infrastructure investments that create new construction opportunities coupled with long-term recurring income.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A consortium, including\u00a0Orascom Construction PLC\u00a0and\u00a0Toyota Tsusho Corporation, has signed a 20-year\u00a0agreement with\u00a0the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to develop and operate a 500 MW wind farm in Ras Ghareb in\u00a0Egypt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":323640,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[33,29],"tags":[307],"class_list":["post-323639","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-main","category-real-estates","tag-orascom-development-egypt"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.3 -
