{"id":323456,"date":"2021-09-25T09:48:26","date_gmt":"2021-09-25T09:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=323456"},"modified":"2021-09-26T09:52:39","modified_gmt":"2021-09-26T09:52:39","slug":"bloggers-vloggers-in-egypt-asked-to-register-for-income-tax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/09\/25\/bloggers-vloggers-in-egypt-asked-to-register-for-income-tax\/","title":{"rendered":"Bloggers, vloggers in Egypt asked to register for income tax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Egypt\u00a0 has obliged all online content creators (bloggers and vloggers) working in the country, are required to register for income tax, according to Chairperson of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), Reda Abdel Qader.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Saturday, ETA added that online content creators whose revenues reached EGP 500,000 per year since their online debut are also required to register for the value-added tax (VAT).<\/p>\n<p>Abdel Qader said that ETA allocated hotline 16395 to receive inquiries related to taxation of e-commerce and online content creation activities.<\/p>\n<p>The authority also demanded individuals and companies that use social media networks for e-commerce to register for income tax and VAT \u2013 in case their revenues reached EGP 500,000 per year \u2013 in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n<p>There are three types of companies that engage in e-commerce activity: First, companies use e-commerce as one of the various means of sale or distribution. Second, companies depend mainly on electronic means in selling and distributing their products and services.
