{"id":323392,"date":"2021-09-18T12:55:54","date_gmt":"2021-09-18T12:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=323392"},"modified":"2021-09-19T12:58:08","modified_gmt":"2021-09-19T12:58:08","slug":"egypts-engineering-industry-exports-rise-44-to-1-9bn-in-8m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/09\/18\/egypts-engineering-industry-exports-rise-44-to-1-9bn-in-8m\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt\u2019s engineering industry exports rise 44% to $1.9bn in 8M"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Egypt\u2019s engineering industry exports increased by 44% to $1.957bn in the first eight months (8M) of 2021, compared to $1.357m during the same period last year, according to the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE).<\/p>\n<p>In its monthly report issued on Saturday, EECE said that exports rose by 35% to $274.5m in August 2021 alone, compared to $204m in August 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The Council revealed that the most important sectors whose exports increased in 8M 2021 were: electrical appliances 16%, automotive components 65%, cables 97%, household appliances 63%, and electrical and electronic industries 54%.<\/p>\n<p>The main regions to which engineering exports increased in the same period were: Europe (UK \u2013 Turkey \u2013 Slovakia \u2013 France \u2013 Germany \u2013 Spain \u2013 Greece), Asia (UAE \u2013 Saudi Arabia \u2013 Iraq \u2013 Jordan \u2013 Kuwait \u2013 Lebanon \u2013 China), and Africa (Algeria \u2013 Morocco \u2013 Libya \u2013 Sudan \u2013 Kenya \u2013 Nigeria \u2013 Tunisia).<\/p>\n<p>Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairperson of EECE, announced the inclusion of new products for the export support programme: smart cards, electrical feeding industries, electronic and household appliances, food processing, packaging machinery lines, agricultural machinery, razors, and moulds.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the new programme to support exports, which is one of the mechanisms for increasing national exports to $100bn in the coming years, according to the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the provision of financial liquidity to exporters during the recent period through the lumpsum payment initiative of export subsidy dues helped in solving the problems of the export file.
