{"id":323344,"date":"2021-09-13T14:44:10","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T14:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=323344"},"modified":"2021-09-13T14:44:10","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T14:44:10","slug":"efg-hermes-closes-valus-first-securitisation-bond-offering-worth-egp-322-5m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/09\/13\/efg-hermes-closes-valus-first-securitisation-bond-offering-worth-egp-322-5m\/","title":{"rendered":"EFG Hermes closes valU\u2019s first securitisation bond offering worth EGP 322.5m"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EFG Hermes has concluded advisory on valU\u2019s\u00a0first\u00a0securitisation bond offering valued at EGP 322.550 million\u00a0as part of a EGP 2 billion securitisation program\u00a0approved by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) on 25 July.<\/p>\n<div id=\"Outstream\"><\/div>\n<p>The issuance is backed by a receivables portfolio worth EGP 369 million assigned to EFG Hermes as the issuance\u2019s special purpose vehicle (SPV), according to a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The offering received a Prime-1 rating,\u00a0the highest in the Egyptian bond market, from\u00a0Middle East Rating Services (MERIS).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Co-Head of Investment Banking at EFG Hermes, Mostafa Gad<\/strong>,\u00a0said: \u201c<em>We are proud to be embarking on this first-of-its-kind securitisation program for a buy-now, pay-later (BNPL) fintech platform such as valU \u2014 a cornerstone of the EFG Hermes&#8217; non-bank financial institutions (NBFI) platform<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Having garnered significant interest from financial providers, the transaction\u2019s success also highlights our team\u2019s dedication to diversify our service offering in the debt space and to continue to drive growth for the firm and the clients we serve,<\/em>\u201d Gad added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EFG Hermes\u2019 NBFI\u00a0platform CEO, Walid Hassouna<\/strong>, said: \u201c<em>The transaction comes at a key juncture for the company, where value-added services such as instalment programs and fintech-enabled consumer finance facilities are in high demand.
