TAQA Power, a subsidiary of\u00a0TAQA Arabia, has signed\u00a0a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Germany-based MAN Energy Solutions, regarding a pilot project for\u00a0producing green hydrogen locally\u00a0to fuel tourist buses in Egypt.<\/p>\n

The two companies will collaborate on conducting\u00a0a feasibility study on employing electrolysis for a hydrogen production project over the next six months, according to a recent statement.<\/p>\n
The project comes in light of a growing international interest in alternative fuel with Egypt aiming to\u00a0generate and use hydrogen through renewable energy, instead of fossil fuels.<\/p>\n
Samy Abdel Kader,\u00a0TAQA Power\u2019s Managing Director<\/strong>, said\u00a0\u201cTAQA Power\u00a0is determined to lead the private sector\u2019s participation in actualising the sustainable development goals (SDG) set by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for Egypt Vision 2030. We plan to achieve that by complying with the state\u2019s strategies for energy sustainability while supporting the Ministry of Environment\u2019s endeavours towards reducing emissions. We aspire to contribute to a net-zero carbon future<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\nGhassan Saab, Head of MAN Energy Solutions energy business in the region<\/strong>, said: \u201cThis is an exciting venture with a valuable partner, in a country that has recognised what an incredibly important role green hydrogen will play on the path to a climate-neutral, global economy.
