{"id":321506,"date":"2021-03-16T13:53:38","date_gmt":"2021-03-16T13:53:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=321506"},"modified":"2021-03-16T13:53:38","modified_gmt":"2021-03-16T13:53:38","slug":"egypts-financial-regulator-launches-regional-center-for-sustainable-finance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/03\/16\/egypts-financial-regulator-launches-regional-center-for-sustainable-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt&#8217;s financial regulator launches regional center for sustainable finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Egypt\u2019s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) established a Regional Center for Sustainable Finance, according to FRA\u2019s Chairman Mohamed Omran.<\/p>\n<p>Omran clarified that the new center will focus on strengthening the Egyptian economy\u2019s existence on the global green economy map as the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region\u2019s first sustainable finance center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will complete the institutional and organizational structure of the FRA\u2019s Financial Services Institute, representing an important addition to the \u201cKnowledge Hub\u201d that the FRA is currently establishing,\u201d Omran added.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Sustainable Development Department and Advisor to the Chairman at FRA Sina Hbous, has been appointed as the new center\u2019s Executive Director.<\/p>\n<p>The center\u2019s establishment follows the global green bond markets surpassing $1 trillion since the introduction of similar financial vessels in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The members of the center\u2019s advisory board elected Mahmoud Mohieldin as Chairperson of the advisory board for its first session.
