Two cooperation protocols between the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Co. (EAMCO) and El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, and Egypt\u2019s Brightskies to localise and develop the automotive industry in Egypt have been signed.<\/p>\n

EAMCO and El Nasr Automotive are subsidiaries of the Egyptian Company for Metal Constructions. (Metalco), one of the Public Business Sector ministry\u2019s companies.<\/p>\n

The first protocol was signed between EAMCO and Brightskies and will see the development of an electric bus model. EAMCO will produce all of the bus\u2019 components while Brightskies will develop the battery and the electrical drive system, according to a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The second protocol, inked between El Nasr Automotive and Brightskies, stipulates the conduction of feasibility studies to establish a research and development (R&D) centre for batteries, and control and electrical drive systems\u00a0for electric cars.<\/p>\n

The two agreements reflect an ambitious step to localise the Egyptian technological component in the future automotive industry.<\/p>\n

Previously, El Nasr Automotive signed an agreement with China\u2019s Dongfeng Motor Corporation to produce the first Egyptian electric car, E-70, by the first quarter (Q1) of 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
