{"id":320917,"date":"2021-02-03T15:29:11","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T15:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/?p=320917"},"modified":"2021-02-03T15:29:11","modified_gmt":"2021-02-03T15:29:11","slug":"what-does-egypts-introduction-of-a-pre-registration-system-means-for-shippers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egy-africa.com\/en\/2021\/02\/03\/what-does-egypts-introduction-of-a-pre-registration-system-means-for-shippers\/","title":{"rendered":"What does Egypt&#8217;s introduction of a pre-registration system means for shippers?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Importers, customs agents, and other handlers need to set up an account with the Customs Authority\u2019s new National Single Window for Foreign Trade Facilitation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nafeza.gov.eg\/en\">Nafeza<\/a>) as Egypt is getting ready to rollout a pre-registration system at seaports around the country, according to guidelines <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3amiQM0\">issued by the Finance Ministry.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They also need to obtain a certified digital signature from companies authorized to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nafeza.gov.eg\/en\/site\/digital-signature\">e-Token<\/a> services.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Egypt will trial the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system \u2014 a World Customs Organization protocol that provides shipping lines, port operators and governments real-time information on the potential arrival of goods \u2014 on 1 April and make the system mandatory in ports by July.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Once registered, importers will soon be required to submit information on shipments before loading<\/strong>, and obtain a unique advance registration number.
