The annual headline figure, however, accelerated to 5.7% in November from 4.6% in October.<\/p>\n<p>The CBE said that there will be continued use of monetary policy tools to control inflation expectations, in addition to containing inflationary pressures from the demand side and the secondary effects of supply shocks.<\/p>\n<p>This may lead to inflation deviating away from target rates, which the CBE pointed out is the result of factors outside the scope of monetary policy influence.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation could increase in 2021 due to \u201cunfavorable base effects related to the normalization of monthly inflation rates,\u201d but is unlikely to stray away from the 7% (+\/- 2%) by 4Q2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-12-24\/egypt-holds-interest-rates-as-new-virus-strain-prompts-caution?sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg<\/a> quoted Pharos\u2019 head of research Radwa El Swaify as saying.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) also adjusted its inflation target to a range of 7% (+\/- 2%) by 4Q2022, from a previous target range of 9% (+\/- 3%), it said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":319744,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[22],"tags":[55],"class_list":["post-320232","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-banking","tag-central-bank-of-egypt"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.3 -
