Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, has met with Gareth Bayley, British Ambassador to Egypt, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation in the coming period, according to an official statement
The Egyptian minister noted that trade relations between Egypt and Britain are witnessing continuous growth, with bilateral trade volume registering $2.91 billion in 2021, compared to $2.16 billion, a rise of 35%.
In 2020, Egypt and the UK signed the association agreement, which came into effect in 2021, to form the general framework of relations between the two countries across different sectors.
Bayley stated that there are a number of sectors targetting British investors. These sectors are green hydrogen projects, healthcare, educational and research centres, and mining projects.
