Egypt’s iron and steel exports grown by 1 percent during the first four months of 2022, registering about $472 million against $468 million in the corresponding period of 2021.
Egypt’s exports of cast iron and steel were directed to 64 countries,according to a recent report by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries (ECBM
It added that five countries received nearly 70.5 percent of the total iron exports, topped by Spain that imported iron from Egypt at a total of $95.260 million, followed by Italy ($88.372 million) and Saudi Arabia ($79.736 million).
It added that Canada came fourth in the list of countries importing Egyptian iron and steel with a value of $49.832 million in the relevant period, while the US came fifth with $28.753 million.
