Egypt’s non-oil exports hit $9.17bn during Q1-22

Egypt’s non-oil exports reached around $9.17 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of 2022, up 20% from $7.67 billion in the year-ago period, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevin Gamea, announced.

Despite the global economic repercussions of the Russia-Ukraine war and pandemic, Egypt has recorded higher non-oil exports because of several factors, including the launch of new markets and the high competitiveness of Egyptian products in foreign markets, Gamea remarked.

The country recorded $2.99 billion exports to the Arab states, $623 million to the US, and $2.50 billion to the European Union (EU).
