Catalyst Partners has launched an impact investment fund “Catalyst Capital Egypt” with a capital of EGP 1 billion.
The fund was established in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Misr Insurance Holding Company (MIHC), according to a press release on Tuesday.
The fund’s shareholders also include Misr Life Insurance, Banque du Caire, Misr Fund for Finance and Investment, and Attijariwafa Bank.
This step aims to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The fund’s launch was attended by the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt, Alessandro Fracassetti.
