Egypt’s ongoing development cooperation portfolio comprises 372 projects aiming to support development sectors, invest in human capital, and achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, announced.
These projects are valued at $26.5 billion, El-Mashat said during the first National Forum on the Future of Work in Egypt organised by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The Minister said that Egypt signed a $10.2 billion development financing agreement to support the public and private sector in 2021, with $2.47 billion of financing allocated for human capital.
The country is implementing 33 projects worth $1.5 billion to achieve the third goal of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on good health and well-being.
In line with the fourth and eighth goals of SDGs, Egypt is conducting 35 projects worth $2 billion for quality education and 47 projects worth $2.6 billion for decent work and economic growth.
