The Food Export Council said Egypt’s date exports rose by 21 percent in 2021 to stand at $52 million against $43 million in 2020.
In a statement on Wednesday, the council said Egypt exported date to 59 states, noting that Indonesia was at the top of the list of importers, followed by Morocco and Malaysia.
The council stressed keenness on boosting Egyptian date exports to $100 million within the coming few years.
The council also referred to the annual date festival in Siwa Oasis which was held on Jan 22 to 24.
