The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced a remarkable increase in bank deposits by around 114 billion pounds at the end of October to reach 6.191 trillion pounds against 6.077 trillion pounds in September.
Total governmental deposits at banks hit 1.2 trillion pounds by the end of October, the CBE said in a recent report.
Governmental deposits stood at1.059 trillion pounds in local currency, while total non-governmental deposits increased to 4.990 pounds trillion.
Non-governmental deposits in local currency reached 4.324 trillion pounds by the end of October, compared to 4.253 trillion pounds in the previous month, the report added.
