Egypt’s annual urban inflation went down to 6.2% in November, compared to 6.3% in the same month in 2020, according to official data
The consumer price index (CPI) stood at 118 points in November, maintaining its October level. The stability in Egypt’s inflation on a monthly basis is attributed to both the increase and decrease in prices.
Grocery prices declined by 11% in November, while fruits as well as meat and poultry witnessed a plunge of 5.1% and 3.4%, respectively, in their prices.
On the other hand, the prices of oils, grains and bread, and dairy products rose by 13.7%, 3.2%, and 1%, respectively, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Annually, food and beverage prices in Egypt surged by 9.3% in November this year, compared to the same month in 2020.
