The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) will raise transit fees by 6% in 2022, the authority’s Chairman, Osama Rabie, said.

The decision will be applied as of February 2022 on all ships, excluding tourist cruise ships and liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, Rabie added in a statement on Thursday.
The authority aims at adopting a balanced pricing and marketing strategy that complies with the interests of the authority and its customers, taking into consideration the global economic conditions, Rabie noted.
