Egypt’s exports to Spain largely increased 69.1% to record €450.7 million in the first half of 2021 compared to €266.4 million during the same period in 2020, according a report on the Egyptian exports’ performance received by Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea from the Egyptian trade office in Madrid.
In a statement on Friday, Ahmed Nasr, head of the trade office in Madrid, said the Egyptian exports in the first half of 2021 were topped by cast iron and iron and steel with an increase of 472.4% at a value of €145.3 million, compared to €25.3 in the first half of 2020.
Plastics and articles thereof came in the second place, recording €49.1 million compared to €32.5 million (+50.9%) followed by crochet clothes (€32 million) (+%84.1) and fruit exports (€24.9 million), Nasr added.
