The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) is currently considering a proposal to extend the Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) daily trading session by 30 minutes, sources told the local press.
If approved, the EGX’s trading session will begin at 9:30 a.m. instead of 10:00 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m., the sources added.
These statements were made following a meeting held on Tuesday headed by the Deputy Chairman of the FRA, Islam Azzam, and in the presence of the EGX’s Chairman, Mohamed Farid, and the Deputy Chairman of the EGX, Ahmed Abdel Rahman, to discuss the new methodology for trading on the EGX.
The source said that the officials agreed on several proposals, including raising the minimum limit for the share’s moving closing price to EGP 250,000 from EGP 100,000.
