The Egyptian Ministry of Finance ended the administrative seizure of assets of more than 3,000 corporate taxpayers between the end of April 2020 and the end of July 2021.
These companies have paid 1-10% of the total income tax and value-added tax (VAT) at a total value of EGP 159.7 million as part of an initiative aimed at resolving tax disputes, the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, said in a statement on Monday.
This move is in line with the government’s efforts to support economic activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic as per presidential directives, Maait noted.
