The Egyptian Customs Authority collected about EGP 2.569 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Ain Sokhna port during July.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Ain Sokhna port amounted to EGP 658.125 million last month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Thursday.
Additionally, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the port reached EGP 1.911 billion.
The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, yarn, mobile phase accessories, and car spare parts.
Moreover, the port exported goods that include aluminium, zinc, marble, textiles, sand, phosphate, fibreglass, and food industries at a total value of EGP 1.216 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 3.464 million.
