Egypt inks $26m export deals with Cameroon, Senegal
Egypt’s first trade mission to Cameroon and Senegal has achieved significant results with export agreements worth $26 million, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea revealed.
The agreements include the export of cement, insulation materials, fertilisers, chemicals, packaging materials, engineering industries, food products, irrigation systems, and carpets, Gamea said in a statement on Thursday.
This step is part of the ministry’s strategy to increase exports to Senegal to $200 million from the current $35 million and its exports to Cameroon to $125 million from $42 million, she added.
The trade mission took place from 4 to 9 July in cooperation with Attijariwafa Bank, the Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), Ahmed Maghawry, said.
