US companies are planning to inject $ billion worth of investments in Egypt over the coming five years, the US Ambassador to Cairo, Jonathan Cohen, revealed.
The ambassador said that he contacted several US corporations to encourage them to explore investment opportunities in Egypt, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
The US investments in Egypt have reached $1.5 billion in 2020, with expectations to increase to $2 billion in 2021, he noted.
For his part, the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, confirmed the ministry’s commitment to creating an attractive environment for foreign investments.
