Egypt is launching a new vaccine production lines at a cost of $17 million, in addition to construction costs of EGP 80 million.
The Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, visited the complex of factories of the Egyptian Holding Company for Biopharmaceuticals and Vaccines (Vacsera) in Sixth of October City to follow up on the progress of the project
Upon operational, the coronavirus vaccine plant will have a production capacity of 3 million doses per day, which is six times the production capacity of Vacsera’s factories in Agouza, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Khaled Megahed, said in a statement on Sunday.
In April, Vacsera and China’s Sinovac Life Sciences Company signed two agreements to manufacture the Sinovac vaccine in Egypt.
