Egypt will establish new Polish industrial zone in Ain Sokhna

Poland is choosing Egypt to build its first overseas industrial zone, as it will be in Egyptian canal city of Ain al​-Sokhna.

On Tuesday, Poland’s Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) has signed a framework agreement with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) to set up an industrial zone over an area between 400 to 1,000,000 square metres in Ain al​-Sokhna. The anticipated Polish industrial will be specialised in food, electronic, and auto spare part industries, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Yehia Zaki, Chairman of Suez Canal Economic Zone, has signed the agreement with Janusz Michałek, Chairman of the Katowice Special Economic Zone.

The signing ceremony was attended by Egyptian Minister of Industry Nevine Gamea, Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski, Minister of Economic Development Grzegorz Piechowiak, and Polish Ambassador to Cairo, Michał Łabenda, as well as 50 polish officials and businessmen.
