Egypt cuts export tariffs on nitrogen fertilisers

The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, issued a decision to extend the levy of export tariffs on nitrogen fertilisers under the ministerial decree no. 59 of 2021, while reducing the fees to EGP 2,500 per tonne.

The decision will be in force for a year as of the date of its publication in the Egyptian Gazette, the minister added in a statement on Thursday.

The move is aimed at regulating export operations of nitrogen fertilisers and ensuring the provision of the monthly quota set for the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in order to meet the local demand.
