Egypt has assigned more than EGP 600 billion for the implementation of the national project for rural development for the next three to four years, according to The Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait.
The minister further revealed that the new budget includes EGP 75 billion for Haya Karima initiative (A Decent Life), according to a statement on Wednesday.
The rural development project is the largest project of its kind in the world as it will cover more than half of Egypt’s population, Maait noted.
The project will help raise the economic and social levels of citizens living in rural areas and improve the services provided to them.
