The Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE) will be printing the terms and conditions for opening individual accounts in Braille so that the visually impaired can access its banking services to the visually impaired, according to Alaa Farouk, its Chairperson.
The new step is according to the directives of the Central Bank of Egypt as part of the state’s efforts to care for and ensure the rights of people with special needs in general.
The chairman added that the ABE decided to be a pioneer in facilitating the availability of its banking services to the blind through an agreement with the Cultural Center of the Association of Light and Hope concerned with sponsoring the blind and one of the centers specialized in Braille printing in order to print the terms and conditions for opening individual accounts in Braille.
He also noted that the bank will provide this service in the main branches in Cairo and the governorates as a first stage in preparation for its circulation in the future to all branches of the bank, including the branches at villages.
