The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has maintained the first spot for syndicated loans in Egypt and Africa during the first quarter of 2021, a Bloomberg evaluation shows.
NBE was at the top of the league table for fees generated from syndicated facilities, Bloomberg said, and ranked second as lead arranger and third as facility agent.
The state-owned bank also ranked second as a lead arranger, the third place as a facility agent, and the eighth place as a marketing agent for the syndicated loans in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The bank has succeeded in arranging a total of 12 transactions worth a combined EGP 49 bn, the bank said in a statement.
