Egypt is keen on developing the technological centres to serve as the technical arms of the national industry in order to boost competitiveness of Egyptian industrial products to meet the needs of the local, regional and international markets, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said.
Gamea added that the ministry is aiming to enhance the potentials of the technological centers and train more cadres in various fields with the aim of offering the best quality services for the industrial sector.
She also underlined the importance of coordinating efforts among the technological centers and the ministry bodies to maximize the benefits of such centers in the service of industry.
Gamea said 13 affiliate technological centers are now operational in the sectors of food industries, plastics, furniture, design and fashion, accessories and leather products.
She asked the directors of such centers to present detailed reports on their future plans and the challenges they have been facing to beef up industry in the coming phase.
