Egyptian bank deposits rose in November to 5.126 trillion Egyptian pounds ($325.7 million) from 5.088 trillion pounds in October, according to data released by the country’s central bank.
Government deposits recorded 865.3 billion pounds at the end of November, down from 874.1 billion pounds at the end of October. These included local currency deposits worth 760.134 billion pounds and others dominated in foreign currencies worth 105.170 pounds.
Non-government deposits stood at around 4.260 trillion pounds at the end of November, including 3.611 trillion pounds in local currency and 649.55 billion pounds in foreign currencies, the central bank data added.
