Egypt’s GASCO supplies 61bn cubic metres of gas in exports, local sales in 2020

The Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) has provided 61.1 billion cubic metres of gas in exports and local sales during 2020, the company’s Chairman, Yasser Salah El-Din, said.

The electricity sector made up 60% of total consumed gas locally last year, Salah El-Din added in a statement on Tuesday.

GASCO implemented several projects to improve the national natural gas transmission network which reached 8,000 kilometres with a capacity of 250 cubic metres per day in 2020.

This came during the ordinary general meeting held to approve 2020’s business results in the presence of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla.
