The Egyptian engineering exports increased by 8 percent reaching $1.340 billion in the first sixmonths of the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $1.240 billion during the same period of the fiscal year 2019/2020.
In December 2020 the engineering exports surged by 15 percent reaching $213.6 million, compared to $185.6 million in the same month last year.
The top winning engineering sectors whose exports witnessed an increase, are transportation vehicles by 91%, cables by 21%, household appliances by 20%, automotive parts by 14%, electric and electronic industries by 3%.
Meanwhile the top countries importing the Egyptian engineering products from Europe are United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy and Slovenia while Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and Hong Kong in Asia and Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria in Africa
