Egypt’s annual core inflation rate retreated to 3.8 percent in December 2020, compared to 4 percent a month earlier, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) recorded zero in the last month of 2020, compared to 0.2 percent in December 2019 and to zero in November 2020, the CBE said.
In addition, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the country’s annual headline inflation rate fell to 6 percent in December 2020, down from 6.8 percent in the prior month.
