Egypt’s engineering exports increased by 6 percent year-on-year to $1.11 billion during the first five months of fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $1.05 billion, according to data released by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt on Monday.
In November, the country’s engineering exports rose to $229.6 million from $187.3 million in the same month a year earlier.
Exports of vehicle components grew by 18%, cables by 21%, household appliances by 21%, and means of transportation by 72%.
The countries that increased their engineering imports from Egypt included the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, and Kenya.
