Banque Misr signed a protocol of cooperation with the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) to finance programmes and activities aiming at increasing the value of Egyptian exports to international markets, especially the African continent.
The protocol, which will extend for a year and half starting from 1 January 2021, will support the country’s plan to boost exports, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ECS will help exporting companies enjoy the service, banking, and financing programmes offered by Banque Misr under the protocol at an estimated finance of 22 million Egyptian pounds with the aim of increasing Egyptian exports to Africa to $30 billion in the upcoming period, the Head of ECS, Ahmed Maghawry, said.
The funding will help increase the competitiveness of Egyptian exports, in addition to holding training workshops and sessions to raise the awareness of new and small-scale exporters about the target markets.
