3 Saudi airports ranked as safest among Mideast, Africa airports
Three Saudi airports were featured among the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region’s safest airports amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Safe Travel Barometer.
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah secured the fourth spot with a Safe Travel Score of 4 out of 5.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport came in the sixth and tenth place, respectively, with a Safe Travel Score of 3.9 and 3.8, respectively.
The Safe Travel Score is an independent audit of more than 200 airports and 20 traveler health and safety measures.
As Per the October 2020 assessment, UAE’s Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) led the global airport leaderboard with a Safe Travel Score of 4.4 out of 5 each.
The Safe Travel Barometer is the world’s most comprehensive database of COVID-19 health and safety protocols, and traveler experience initiatives announced by suppliers which influences traveler decisions in the new normal, according to its website.
